For a number of years, the staff and students of Sunset School take a moment to recognize local veterans in Coos County. Although they were unable to hold their traditional Veterans Day assembly, this did not stop Sunset from showing their appreciation for local veterans. To thank and recognized those who have served in the US Armed Forces, students created art and poetry. Cards were sent out to Veterans to show appreciation and to thank them for their service. Additionally, when you drive by the front of Sunset School you will see art work the 3rd grade class created to recognize veterans on Veterans Day.
