Coos Bay School District Superintendent Charis McGaughy and representatives from the Marshfield High School Key Club, Honors Society and Cheer Squad will be reading to students Thursday during Read Across America at the Coos Bay Public Library.
Children in the community are invited to the event, which will also have guest readers from organizations such as the Coos Art Museum, Coos Hispanic Alliance and Washed Ashore.
The free event begins at 5 p.m. at the Coos Bay Public Library, and free books will be given away to all those under age 18 who attend.
Read Across America begins at 5 p.m. and runs through 7 p.m.
