A student at Millicoma School is well on her way to become a future chef after winning Coos Bay School District’s Future Check competition hosted by Sodexo.
Future Chef is a competition for fifth-graders that Sodexo hosts nationwide. In Coos Bay, many students submitted recipes for the Future Chef contest, and four young chefs were named finalists.
The finalists included Jaina Case, Charlotte Aurdahl and Priya Devi from Millicoma and Paizly Van Hoof from Sunset.
The finalists were then tasked with cooking their recipes for judges, and while all did a fabulous job, only one student could be the winner. That student was Charlotte Aurdahl, who wowed the judges with her tiny apple balls.
With the win, Aurdahl advanced to the regional finals, where she will continue in her quest to be named the Future Chef.
Hosting a fun event like Future Chef is another way to ensure “All Students Thrive.”
