Sunset teachers say goodbye to students

Students were not the only ones celebrating the last day of school.
At Sunset School, the teachers restarted a long tradition by entertaining the students on the last day of classes.
Principal Shelley McKnight said Sunset has long celebrated the end of school by having teachers perform for the students, but COVID restrictions the last three years put the tradition on hold.
But in 2023, it returned in style.
With the third, fourth and fifth graders watching and cheering, the teachers started off with a Star Wars style fight using light sabers. In the end, Darth Vader won the fight.
The teachers then showed off their dancing skills with several students joining in.
To end the day, six brave staff members and six helpers raced to make and eat and ice cream sundae the fastest.
