Dear Sunset Families,

My name is Kara Davidson, and I’m thrilled to be your new principal at Sunset School!

I’ve been part of the Coos Bay Schools family for the past 20 years, serving as both a teacher and an administrator. Most recently, I had the joy of leading Eastside School. No matter my role, my passion has always been the same; helping students learn, grow, and feel proud of who they are.

At Sunset, my goal is simple: to create a school where every student feels safe, supported, and inspired to do their best. I believe kids thrive when they’re surrounded by caring adults, high expectations, and engaging learning opportunities. I look forward to making that happen together.

As we get ready for this school year, know that my door is always open to students, families, and staff. I’m looking forward to building strong partnerships and making Sunset a place where every child knows they matter.
