November 3, 2025
Hello November
6th Grade

Hello Sunset Families

Dear Families,
Next week is a busy and exciting time here at Sunset School as we prepare for Conference Week and honor our nation’s veterans!
Here’s our schedule for next week 11/10-14:
  • Monday: Regular school day
  • Tuesday: No school in observance of Veteran’s Day
  • Wednesday & Thursday: Early release at 12:00 p.m. for Parent/Teacher Conferences
  • Friday: Normal early release day
We strongly encourage all families to schedule a conference with your child’s teacher. These meetings provide an important opportunity to discuss your child’s progress, celebrate successes, and work together to set goals for the rest of the year. Your partnership makes a meaningful difference in your child’s learning and growth.
We also invite all veterans and active-duty service members to join us for our Veteran’s Day Assembly on Monday, November 10th at 8:30 a.m. It’s always a special event as our students show gratitude and respect for those who have served our country.
Throughout November, our Character Strong trait is Responsibility. At school, we are focusing on what it means to follow through on commitments, take care of our belongings, and make good choices even when no one is watching. You can help reinforce responsibility at home by:
  • Giving your child small daily tasks (like feeding a pet or setting the table).
  • Encouraging them to plan ahead and meet their own deadlines.
  • Celebrating when they own their mistakes and make things right.
Finally, please note that this Friday, November 7 is a grading day, so there will be no school for students as teachers prepare for conferences.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We look forward to seeing you next week and connecting about your child’s learning!

Sincerely,
Kara Davidson
Principal
